Wild & the West
Lifestyle brand
Wild & The West is an outdoor lifestyle brand inspired by my love of the South West, being outdoors, and photography. It celebrates short, beautiful walks and creative places to explore across the South West of England, encouraging people to get outside and wander.
The Challenge
Most walking guides focus on long, demanding hikes and give little sense of what a walk will actually be like. The challenge was to create a more accessible alternative built around short, rewarding walks that are clearly brought to life in advance.

The Solution
Wild & The West rethinks how people discover and enjoy countryside walking. The idea was to create a really immersive website and social presence that champions short, carefully curated circular walks. Every route is field tested and often paired with a good pub, café, or interesting local stop.
As founder, I led the project end to end, from brand concept and positioning through to website design, build, content creation, and social media launch.
Brand & Visual Identity
The visual identity balances heritage with a modern, outdoors feel. The colour palette draws from deep greens and Bath stone inspired neutrals, with a bright green accent to introduce energy and a sense of wildness. The logo uses subtle letterform offsets to introduce movement with a swift flying west symbolises nature, freedom, and the brand’s connection to the South West.
Illustrations
Alongside photography and video, I developed a set of bespoke illustrations, including custom maps and linocut inspired style vector illustrations rooted in British folklore. Used across the website, social media, and clothing, these illustrations combine local wildlife with regional landmarks to create a distinctive visual language.
Website
The website delivers a highly visual, motion led experience. Each walk is presented as a scrollytelling journey combining immersive photography and video, interactive elements, custom illustrated maps and clear route guidance.
On location photography and film bring each walk to life, capturing both intimate details and expansive landscapes, all colour graded for a consistent brand look. AI was used selectively to create subtle 360 drone style shots, timelapse effects, and bring vintage photos to life.
Virtual Photoshoots
To extend the brand beyond screen, I developed a range of branded products and clothing. I explored virtual fashion photography as an alternative to traditional shoots, developing AI generated models and consistent character sheets to ensure visual continuity. This allowed me to produce realistic lifestyle imagery and video set within West Country inspired locations, while retaining full creative control.
Social Media
I designed a flexible set of social media templates to support launch and ongoing engagement. Content ranges from walk specific highlights and reels to broader discovery formats such as the “Let’s Mooch In…” series, which spotlights towns across the South West with curated recommendations.
The results
Wild & The West demonstrates my ability to build a brand from concept to execution, create cohesive visual systems across digital, social, and physical products, design immersive and motion rich websites, and produce photography, video, and illustration supported by emerging AI workflows.
It is an ongoing project that continues to evolve, acting both as a public facing brand and a creative playground for exploring new tools, techniques, and ideas.
